This entry-level Quality Engineer position accomplishes the following tasks and responsibilities:
Develop and implement quality plans, programs, and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses.
Ensure that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards.
Review, analyze, and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
Investigate problems and develop disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customer, supplier and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
Perform root cause and corrective action activities.
Must be U.S. Citizen and able to obtain / maintain government-issued security clearance.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must obtain unescorted access to JSMC facility.
Must successfully complete background check, pre-employment medical exam, and drug screen.
Bachelor of Science degree -- Mechanical or Quality Engineering preferred.
Ability to read blueprints, drawings models and interpret quality requirements.
Ability to obtain a government-issued security clearance.
Ability to meet entry requirements for military vehicles (ASR).
Prior experience with TIPQA Quality Systems or similar (such as Electronic Quality Management Systems), desired.
Experience with the manufacture or design of military land or water vehicles, desired.
Experience working with designs in a model-based environment, desired.
Experience in statistical analysis of data trending (Green Belt type projects), desired.
Knowledge of ISO 9001-2015, preferred.
Experience as an Internal or External ISO Auditor, preferred.
Work Environment / Demands:
This job is performed in an office and heavy manufacturing environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and phones and requires walking, sitting, stooping, personal interactions for extended periods.
Exposure to manufacturing environments containing noise, odors, temperature changes, and moving equipment.
