Position Description:
  • Involvement and support of Whole Systems Business Model in a Salary Bargaining Unit position (SBU)
  • Interpret drawings and 3D models for manufacturability for Fabrication and / or Assembly processes
  • Develop and provide processes and instruction to the Production operators
  • Develop standard work assignments based on line-balancing for varying production rates
  • Concept and detail fixturing and tool aids to support production processes
  • Understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic requirements related to machines and fixturing
  • Procure needed tooling and equipment to support Production processes
  • Provide assistance on cost estimating for future programs and tasks
  • Provide technical support and training to the manufacturing operations at JSMC
  • Ability to implement Problem Solving & Corrective Action (PSCA) techniques and Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Provide technical interface with on-site customer (US Government)


Position Requirements:
  • BS Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering preferred; BS in related Technical / Engineering fields or Associate Degree in related Technical / Engineering field with relevant work experience considered
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be US Person as defined by I.T.A.R. (International Trafficking and Arms Regulations)
  • Must be able to successfully complete the pre-employment process including drug screen and background check
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Army Police unescorted access
  • Must be able to work in a team based environment
  • Must be able to climb, walk, and lift up to 20 lbs
  • May be required to spend considerable amount of time on the Production floor
  • May be required to work with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Demonstrate personal management skills and organization
  • Experience with 3D modeling software; experience with Pro-E (Creo) a plus
  • Able to perform problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Occasional travel and overtime may be required
  • May be required to work off shift
  • Required to meet military vehicle entry requirements (ASR)
  • Work Environment/Demands:

    This job is performed in a heavy manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, copiers/scanners and phones requiring walking, sitting, stooping, personal interactions for extended periods. Exposed to manufacturing environments containing noise, odors, temperature changes, lubricants and moving equipment.
